I came from a loving home with an older doggie and several kids ranging from toddler to teenager, we lived in a huge house then we moved. I really did not like movers coming in and taking our stuff and after that I got my skittish.. reaction once in a while. But I am hoping that since I am still very young I will grow out of it once I have a stable life.
Everything was well until the house mom's belly started getting bigger and they did not like me jumping on her.. wait I am a puppy too I want attention please please ?? this did not go with them at all. I liked spending time in my little inn which they call crate ? when I went outside I did chew on some tree barks to soothe my teething.. not sure whether I had any chew toys around. With the move and the tummy of the house mom's growing I felt like I was not wanted in the house and sure enough one day I was brought to the shelter to find a new fur-ever home.
Since I am a labby and we are such great doggies, we even have greater organizations looking after us and within days the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida was notified of my charming irresistable presence and the search of a foster mom had begun.
Everything happens for a reason, my future foster human had witnessed another fellow canine (Sgt Guthrie who is doing really well in his furever home after being amputated)getting hit by a car and since that day she has been directing her energy towards making this world a better place one dog at a time.

Sgt Guthrie in her furever home after an unfortunate encounter with a car.
After bouts with different breeds she decided that she really was a 'lab girl' since she and her family have been sharing their lives with an awesome lab/viszla mix Candy for 10 years now.
Candy in one of her ' I am feeling very philosophical today' days. She reached out to Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida and after a very pleasant house visit from a wonderful coordinator and her pup she was given the green light to foster a doggie and ease their transition into their furever homes.
I was in her first email as an urgent situation because my owner had surrounded me to a shelter and I certainly did not like it there it was soo noisy ! And sure enough less than 12 hours after she got the email about me she was visiting me and showering me with aahhh.. oohhh and various cooing sounds which I quite did not get. Did she think I was a baby ? Oh well as long as she pays attention to me and pets me she can make any funny noise that she wants.
Our first encounter was in the visiting room, the place looked like a pediatrician's office room, colorful walls.. some toys and some seats. My foster mum was sitting on the floor when I was brought in.. hmm.. now this is a first is she crazy it is all dirty on the floor.. can't she see the chairs there for humans to sit on. Well as long as she is at my level let me go and sniff her she surely is not thinking of harm being at my level.. sniff sniff.. she almost smells worse than the kennel whats going on ? Who is this stinky woman ? Help !
At that point she is explaining that she just came from rowing covered in lake water and sweat.. ok.. as long as she is not stinking that way all the time.
We were alone for a bit and she got kind of bored THANK YOU ! and asked whether we could go out. I really like going out but was dancing around her getting her tangled in the leash as I was trying to rush through all the other pups trying to get her attention.
" BACK OFF GUYS SHE"S MINE " .. just in case she gets distracted let me get her out asap so she does not stop to look at others. You are my ticket outa here lady .. and I am not missing this chance !
Ahhhh fresh air.. now I feel a lot better. I love it when humans sit down.. but I do not want to come on the bench with her no.. I just am happy to be out with the foster mom and look at her, wait.. what are you doing behind me I want to see what you are doing.. it is better that you are in front of me all the time.
Seems like my reaction of getting spooked at nothing puzzled her but she started laughing.. saying ' Oh I certainly can work with you you are adorable " before giving me a huge smooch and a kiss.. she's weird but I like her ! Wait till I get done with her.
We walked -- actually dashed- through the kennels why is everyone soo loud I really do not like that, and just as I was getting ready to go out with my foster mum.. we went into the waiting room again. Seriously ? I thought I made a good impression.. what ? she is leaving the room saying bye telling me that she'll see me in 2 days I really do not want to stay here more.. but.. hmph.. whatever..
I am trying to see what the foster mum is doing by peeking through the windows of the viewing room she lingered a couple of minutes talking to the nice caretakers then waved back at me and left.
I hope she keeps her promise I really wanted to get out of there with her !
But she was saying something like I had to get checked by a vet thoroughly before I am introduced to Candy.. Candy ? who is Candy why isnt anyone telling me anything, I really am at a loss here.
But I have a feeling that everything will turn out great and I will find my furever home with everyones help.
